Good morning everyone, I hope you and yours are safe and well.

We got our dog on Gumtree. The owner sadly could no longer felt he could give her the life she deserved, and wanted to make sure she went straight to a new home rather than waiting at a pound or rescue centre. This also meant that there were none of the procedures and steps you normally associate with rescuing an animal. At the start of the week we didn't have a dog. By the middle of the week we had bought 5 different dog beds 'just in case' and by the end of the week we were learning that our newest inhabitant was absolutely not going to sleep anywhere but on our own bed. Yes, I know, train the dog that this is not ok. We chose sleep over discipline. Which, to be honest, is a pretty good summary of a lot of my life.

I am writing this at the very last minute, desperately trying to hit my own self-imposed deadline. I do not have a clean ending for this post, other than to say that I love my dog, and I love you too.
